“A few weeks ago, my mom and dad were making dinner, and my dad had just turned the gas fire place on. I noticed that I was beginning to feel light-headed and I asked my parents if they felt light-headed as well. My mom said she was and then I noticed a weird smell. It smelled almost like gasoline but it had a little bit weaker smell. I was beginning to feel so light-headed that I had to go sit outside. I immediately remembered what I learned about a tasteless, odorless gas called carbon monoxide. I told my parents and they called someone from a gas company to come and test for carbon monoxide. When the man came he tested for it and it was positive! He said he does not know how I could have smelled it and said it was odorless. The only explanation I have for me being able to smell the gas is that it was God who gave me the ability to do so. If it wasn’t for God giving me that ability, my family and I may have never woken up the next morning. I take no credit in saving my family because God was the one who really saved us. God cared about us and that is clear in this case. I am just glad that we are ok. I am so glad I took that boating course because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have even known about carbon monoxide.”
